1: 1.2085 Stainless Steel introduction
1.2085 grade martensitic tool steel is easy to machine and corrosion resistant, a pre-sulphurized (300) corrosion resistant mold steel. 1.2085 is a mold steel with 16% Cr, which has improved corrosion resistance due to the addition of chromium. In addition, a specific sulfur improves the machinability response. This steel is often used for mold steel applications, including brackets or support plates that undergo wet machining or wet storage. The grade is also used in the manufacture of corrosive materials such as PVC.
