5. 1.2601 Cutting Tool Steel Heat Treatment
Annealing: Heat to 800-830°C, slow cool to ≤500°C. Final hardness: ≤225 HB.
Quenching: Oil quench from 950-1020°C to achieve ≥58 HRC.
Tempering: Temper at 180-250°C for stress relief and dimensional stability. Double tempering recommended for critical applications.
